Product Design
MyDPD Pro
A shipping tool for small companies that need business features with the ease of use of a consumer app. The people using it run real operations, but they have no IT department and no appetite for enterprise software.
IDM
IDM is an administration tool for notifications: SMS, push, email with configurable templates, and WhatsApp. It holds the rules for what gets sent, when, how, in which language, from which company, and a good deal more.
It is the kind of tool that used to take months of training before anyone could use it. My work has been to rebuild its usability from the ground up and bring it onto the design system.
Marigold
Marigold was the first design system at Reservix, and the first one I built from an empty file. The company's B2B products had no shared branding. Each application looked different and solved the same problems in different ways, which confused users and meant the same work was being done several times over.
Buying an existing system was considered and rejected. Changing someone else's system to fit the products would have made development harder, not easier.
Three things had to be solved that were not design problems. The developers needed React skills they did not yet have, so training was arranged for developers, designers and some product people. Some designers were worried about what a system would take away from them, so I worked with the designer in each team on what they actually needed from it. And one team was on Vue, which meant their front end had to be rebuilt on the new system with extra React developers brought in to do it.
Marigold taught me the thing that shaped how I work now. Adoption is a people problem wearing a technical costume, and a system built for one framework becomes a tax the moment a second one appears. Both turned up again at Geopost, at a much larger scale.
The system still exists and has moved on a long way from the version I worked on.
Also at Reservix
Access Control Management, a cloud tool for configuring fleets of handheld scanners. Smartcheck, the Android app running on those scanners. And a reporting tool that turned German tax reporting for theatres and sports promoters, including the Deutsche Nationalmannschaft (DFB), into something an accountant could finish in an afternoon. All built between 2018 and 2023.
